Our preservation process

At The Bloom Lab by Rachel, every keepsake is thoughtfully handcrafted to preserve the beauty and sentiment of your flowers. From the moment your blooms arrive at our studio, they undergo a meticulous preservation process designed to create a timeless heirloom you'll treasure for years to come.

  • Secure your date and choose the keepsakes you'd like created from your flowers.

  • After your special occasion, your flowers are delivered or shipped to our Sydney studio, where they are carefully assessed upon arrival.

  • Your flowers are professionally dried using specialised techniques to maintain their shape, colour, and beauty.

  • We thoughtfully arrange your preserved blooms and handcraft your keepsakes through a multi-layer resin process for exceptional clarity and durability.

  • Each piece is carefully sanded, polished, and inspected to achieve its signature crystal-clear finish.

  • Once fully cured and quality checked, your keepsakes are beautifully packaged and sent home to be cherished for years to come.

Please allow approximately 7–8 months for completion, as every piece is individually handcrafted with care and attention to detail. Timelines may be extended due to extreme weather conditions and last minute booking.

Hi, I'm Rachel 

I'm the founder and artist behind The Bloom Lab by Rachel, a boutique floral preservation studio dedicated to transforming meaningful flowers into timeless resin heirlooms. 

My journey into flower preservation began with my own wedding. Like many brides, I couldn't bear the thought of watching my bouquet fade away after a day that meant so much. As I searched for a way to preserve those memories, I discovered the art of floral preservation and quickly fell in love with the idea of turning sentimental blooms into lasting keepsakes. 

What started as a personal passion has since grown into The Bloom Lab - a place where flowers are given a second life and memories are preserved in a truly meaningful way.

FAQs

Do you only accept fresh flowers?

No, we accept all kinds of flowers including fresh, air-dried, and faux flowers. If you are unsure whether your flowers are suitable, feel free to reach out and Rachel will let you know.

Can only flowers be cast in the pieces?

We understand that other items can hold just as much meaning as the flowers themselves. As long as the item can be safely cast in resin, we will do our very best to include it for you.

What is your order minimum?

Our minimum order for custom preservation is $400. This reflects the time, materials, and care that goes into each and every piece we create.

How long does the process take?

Flower preservation is a long and detailed process and we never rush it. Orders that include at least one main statement piece take approximately 8 months to complete. Orders that include add-on pieces only take approximately 7 months. This timeframe may extend for larger orders or last-minute bookings.
